Washington, Illinois
Michael & Jordyn’s day began at BLoved Salon just around the corner from the Washington Square, in Washington, Illinois. As I entered the salon, the girls were there drinking mimosas and having muffins and pie for breakfast. That’s right, PIE! For their wedding day morning breakfast! I loved it. The reason was because Michael wanted to do something sweet for Jordyn the morning of the wedding, and well, he knew Jordyn did love pie! So why not have some delivered to the salon that morning?! It was the most adorable and sweetest thing, definitely a special little detail I’m sure Jordyn and her girls will always remember.
Next the girls and I headed over to the Bed & Breakfast they stayed at together the night before, Cornerstone Inn, which was just a quick 3 minute walk from the salon, so convenient! This Inn was so adorable and we just had to do some getting ready photos against the exposed brick. One of my favorite detail items Jordyn had was the pearl ring she wore on this day that belonged to Michael’s mother, Kim, who passed away several years ago. I know Kim would have loved that they incorporated a little piece of her into their day, along with several other memorial items like a photo of her up at the alter and more photos and items at their reception in remembrance of her. She was with us on this beautiful day in spirit, but it was sweet to have photos of her there as a symbol.
After that, we headed to St. Patricks Catholic Church, where Jordyn and Michael held their beautiful Catholic ceremony. Michael and Jordyn live right down the street from the church so him and his guys walked over from getting ready at their home, this made for a great photo op as they came parading down the street towards the church!
Next, we headed to Meadow Valley Park, still in Washington, to take some bridal party photos and groom/bride portraits. We got sooo sooo lucky that it didn’t storm on us, it was forecasted to storm all day right during picture time, but then right before the ceremony begin the forecast changed to clear for the rest of the day, what a blessing!
Finally, we ended up at Countryside Banquet Facility to begin the reception. A delicious buffet-style dinner was served and everyone had a blast dancing the night away on the dance floor! So many laughs, hilarious dance moves and a sweet dance between Jordyn and her grandfather was had.
Overall, Jordyn and Michael’s wedding was elegant, classy, heartfelt and just so beautiful all around! I love this couple and I am so excited for them and this new adventure called marriage!
