Katie & Cody had originally planned for a barn wedding day at a beautiful venue in Lafayette for May 2nd, 2020. However, with all the effects of Covid these plans had to be modified. They rescheduled their wedding day for June 6th and were determined to have the wedding on that day no matter what, so instead of choosing a different venue that could accommodate the new date, they decided to have their wedding day at their home, on their beautiful new property they just recently bought together.
June 6th came along and their wedding day at home went seamlessly. There’s something I just love so much about backyard weddings, everything and everyone is so laid back and easy going, the day just seems so easy and fun! They had their ceremony in their backyard directly behind their adorable log cabin home and the reception was held in one of their bigger pole barns. Their decor was so nicely done and I just loved their cute little favors-honey jars & dog treats plus little coloring packages for the kids. Everyone had such a great time, the reception was basically just a big hangout session with everyone visiting, playing games, doing a little dancing & celebrating these sweet newlyweds.
I really can’t say enough good things about Katie & Cody, not only is Katie SO beautiful, I just loved her laid back, go with the flow personality. As well as the fact that Katie and I both have the same maiden name of “Post!” We both had never met another Post outside of our families, so that was a pretty neat thing to bond over first thing! Cody is also a sweetheart and it is so evident he is so head over heals for his gorgeous bride. He’s sweet, calm and down to earth just like her. They’re basically the perfect match!
