I left Ryan & Kim’s wedding day kinda wishing I was Latina…because I am now thoroughly convinced no one throws better parties or has as much fun as they do!
Ryan & Kim got married Saturday, May 1st at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and had their reception at Hotel Carmichael in Carmel, Indiana. The thing I loved the most about the reception was the authentic, Mexican culture they incorporated into the evening. This included a Mexican candy spread, Corona (the beer of course, no virus here!), tequila & lime, a Mariachi band (The BEST part of the night!), bilingual toasts and of course a full dance floor! I don’t think there was one person that didn’t enjoy the night!
We started the day by photographing the Kim’s gorgeous bridal details plus girls getting ready portion at Hotel Carmichael while the guys got ready at the Gabbert family home. Kim & Ryan each opened some pretty special gifts from each other; from Kim there was a custom tie for Ryan with a photo of him and his mother who had passed away several years ago. This was so special to Ryan as his mom was a very special person of course and it was difficult not having her with us on the wedding day. She was most definitely there in spirit though and honored in so many ways. Ryan gifted Kim with their wedding invites (both the Spanish version & the English version) framed along with the fortune from their first date at PF Chang’s that read “A passionate new romance will appear in your life when you least expect it.” This little fortune cookie from that date became a part of their beautiful love story, they even gave out fortune cookies at the reception with a fortune that read this exact same thing, such a neat touch!
Aside from it being a pretty windy day, I’d say Kim & Ryan’s big day was a success. I have to say I was tempted many times to break out dancing with everyone at the reception, especially during the Mariachi band part, they were all just having way too much fun!
