Emily & Nick’s day began at Hotel Conrad in downtown Indianapolis where the girls got ready for the day. We then traveled to the beautiful Scottish Rite Cathedral, also in downtown Indianapolis, where the ceremony & reception was held.
Emily & Nick were very set on not doing a first look on the wedding day. Once we saw Nick’s reaction as he saw her coming down the aisle to him, I understood even more why they wanted to hold off on seeing each other before the ceremony. Emily walked down the aisle to the song “never enough” and the entire scene was just alluring. Nick had a reaction like I’ve never seen before from a groom and the moment was truly once in a lifetime. We got some amazing images of this moment and I can’t wait for you to see it!
I also loved that Nick & Emily opted for personal vows at the ceremony. They were so sweet and genuine. These two truly have a deep friendship and love for each other.
I can’t say enough about how beautiful the Scottish Rite Cathedral of Indianapolis is. I had not gotten a chance to shoot here yet, but I must say it did not dissappoint! The reception area was decorated so elegantly with the beautiful colorful florals Emily picked out, stunning candelabras and SO much more. The whole scene was truly a wedding dream, I had so much fun capturing every detail of this wedding day!
After all the fun of the reception formalities Emily & Nick agreed to sneak away for just a few minutes for some night shots outside. Usually, I try to fit in sunset photos at this time but the sun had just gone down by the time we were able to get out to do this. I honestly loved the dusk look of these photos though and it was nice for Emily & Nick to take a minute to breath and soak in this sweet day before returning to the reception.
The dance floor went hard the entire night thanks to Grapevine DJ and it all ended with a really neat sparkler exit provided by Evans Audio Visual out of the Cathedral where Emily & Nick rode off in the cutest antique car provided by Antique Limousine of Indianapolis.
What a FULL but AMAZING wedding day!
