Charleston holds a special place in my heart. In 2017, I did my first solo travel trip to this city. For this reason alone, it’s a place that holds a lot of meaning to me…but I have always adored the charm & history of the downtown area, the beauty of all the plantations and gardens as well as just the good old “southern feel” of being in this beautiful coastal city. I never get tired of visiting time after time with my family and I look forward to many more trips. I have been a wedding photographer for 7 years now and Charleston has always been THE place I would move if I could choose to live anywhere and be a local photographer in a new city. I simply would never turn away an opportunity to come back to Charleston!
Something I did for my own professional development/personal enjoyment this year was attend a photography retreat in Charleston. Included were 6 styled shoots in various locations in the Charleston area. Each shoot was something I had been dying to shoot in Charleston for years, so you know I did not hesitate in attending something like this! One of my most sought after Charleston wedding venue locations that I have been dreaming of shooting at was the Magnolia Plantation & Gardens. I have been to this location a handful of times and always admire it’s natural beauty and tranquil southern garden charm. I’ll never be able to get enough of photographing in spanish moss. What a DREAM it was to finally shoot a wedding couple here and take advantage of shooting in so many gorgeous spots at Magnolia. I hope to shoot here many more times, as I open up my calendar for weddings in the Charleston area now!

The different photo spots that are available at this Charleston wedding venue are truly endless, we could have spent way beyond our two hours allotted for this shoot! We also truly couldn’t have asked for better models than Savannah & Lance. The perfect southern couple for this Magnolia styled shoot who happen to also be locals of Charleston. This is one of my favorite things I’ve photographed to date!
