Jasmine & Jon’s summer beach engagement session at the Portage Lakefront was back in July of this year…but I loved it (& them!) SO much that I needed to blog it. And finally got time to do so!
While I typically stick around the Indianapolis and surrounding areas for most engagement sessions, I will sometimes travel further if requested to by my wedding couples when I have the availability to do so. I love visiting the Indiana Dunes area beaches along the Lake Michigan coast. It’s so easy to get that coastal look in Indiana while only traveling a couple of hours!
I met Jasmine & Jon at Portage Lakefront & River Walk on a Friday evening just a couple of hours before sunset. The light was in and out between cloudy and golden sunset, which I absolutely loved, two of the best lighting situations for photographers. We started off shooting around the rocks, beach and the more lush areas further back with tall grass. Then outfit change and shot some more around the pier. Jasmine & Jon have such fun-loving, adventurous personalities which is really what made this shoot so fun. They were open to fun posing, showing some true emotion and overall just naturals in front of the camera!
