I always know anytime I get a booking for a wedding day at Hotel Carmichael in Carmel, it’s going to be SO GOOD! Hotel Carmichael is such a perfect, elegant backdrop. From the hotel suites to the event space for wedding days, everything is just stunning and it makes it so easy and fun to get amazing wedding photos for my couples who choose to get married there.
Ellie & Mitchell got married on December 30th, 2023 AKA New Years Eve-Eve! These two were truly such a pleasure to work with. From their sweet, laid back personalities to all the little details & moments of their day, it was a day that won’t soon be forgotten and I am thrilled to be sharing some of my favorite moments captured from their day on the blog.
Some of the details from the day that I loved were Ellie’s “something blue” friend group. She had a few college friends dress in blue dresses in lieu of wearing/having a “something blue” and it was just the cutest, most unique idea. Mitchell & Ellie also exchanged gifts/hand written letters to each other during the getting ready portion of the day. Ellie was gifted a 3rd wedding band that paired so beautifully with her engagement ring and Mitchell was gifted a sleek new watch. Watching both of them read each others letters to themselves and tear up in the process really gives you all the feels. I just love these raw moments witnessed on wedding days, it makes for some of the most meaningful memories in photos.
One other detail that I LOVED was the fact that Ellie & Mitchell passed out light up cowboy hats and glasses at their reception. Their dance floor was already a party before this but when they brought these props out it got even better. I absolutely love having fun with camera settings on the dance floor portion of the evening and it makes it even more fun when you’ve got extra colored lights popping all over! Such a fun reception and celebration of the new Mr & Mrs Fairweather!
