This notebook-inspired styled elopement at Cypress Gardens in Moncks Corner, South Carolina was beyond dreamy. What a treat to get to photograph something like this! Cypress Gardens is a place I had visited before and when you’re here, you truly feel like you’re in a different world. It’s tranquility and natural beauty are something beyond this world and I could spend hours here just listening to the sounds of nature and taking it all in.
Our models for this shoot, Lilly & Wilhelm, were such great sports as they coasted through the waters on a little paddle boat seeing gators pop up right next to them. These waters are filled with them and with it being mating season they were not too shy to make an appearance! I think we can all agree one of the most romantic scenes in the movie “The Notebook” is when Noah takes Allie out on his boat and ventures into this exact scene surrounded by beautiful white geese. The geese in the movie were actually migrated in specifically for the movie and aren’t native to the land, so we didn’t get any geese for this styled shoot. But being able to photograph in the exact same spot the movie was filmed was still more than amazing!
This location is so ideal for a small elopement or even an engagement session. The possibilities and spots you could use here are endless and I hope to return for another shoot at Cypress Gardens!
